The Emperor has no Clothes.

So SCOTUS has decided that the words "Established by the State" mean Established by the State, or other entity, meaning the Federal Government.

I had a professor once who held up a golf ball every day in class and say that it was a baseball.  Then he would start asking at the start of class what it was.  "A golf ball, of course".  which he would correct by calling it a baseball.  After a few weeks, people just started calling it a baseball.  One would ask, "Do you really think it is a baseball?"  of course the answer was, "No, but that is what he will say it is."  Just like that, words cease to have meaning.

Of course, there are many roads that lead the same way.  The second amendment stands out.  As does the first, with the whole "church and state" thing.  If people in power (or the media) repeat a falsehood long enough, eventually, people just accept it.

The President said this was a stupid case, that it shouldn't have been taken up by the court.  He set the tone.  The media dutifully reported the chaos that would ensue if the law was actually followed.  "Useful Idiots" is what Josef Stalin called them.  Day after day, reports of nothing being done to fix the problem should it happen.  Day after day of reports of people benefiting from this, or that, without mentioning how many were hurt, and are being hurt by this law.

When will our lawmakers stand up and choke the source?  We were promised that if only we had a majority in the Senate things would happen.  Who brought whom to their knees?  And now, the GOP has given trade authority to the President.  What happens if the Senate doesn't like the deal?  Will there be votes to shut down the treaty?  And if so, will the President just ignore that?

No, this is not sour grapes because the rule of law lost.  If words can mean anything, then laws mean nothing. The immigration system is broken.  We have heard that.  How do we know if we DON'T ENFORCE the LAW?  We have lost the drug war.  How can we know, since the LAW is NOT ENFORCED?  IRS Confidentiality violated.  Nothing.  Government papers deleted. Nothing.  When you breed lawlessness, you get it.  OPM personnel files breached.  Oh well.  Government debt, More under the current president than all others combined.  And that is after getting out of two wars.  Oh yeah, interest payments that are greater than many nation's GDP. Who cares.  Race relations?  At their worst since Jim Crow, and that is after a white majority nation bought into hope and change, and elected a black president. At what point do we say after all this havoc, that the President's policies are not only destructive, but maybe intentionally so.  who will call him out?  and when?  Justice Scalia did.  Will anyone else?  Pay close attention to the GOP nominees and how they speak of their opposition to the ruling.  That will be telling.
