#OccasionalCortex and other fun stuff.

Just as a reminder on considering higher education, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Green New Dealer, (#OccasionalCortex) and general purveyor of unicorns has an economics degree.  She should sue to get her money back. She has managed to do something no one thought possible, to get the wacko socialist Bill deBlasio, Mayor of NY, to cry out for capitalism, (though it is the typical progressive crony capitalism)  Why? Because College Grad #AOC thought that the $3 Billion NYC was going to give Amazon could be better spent elsewhere, not understanding that that $3 Billion were tax credits for the estimated $27 Billion in Tax Revenue for NYC and New York State, along with the salaries of 25,000 people, and their contributions to the tax coffers.  I guess that would be a net gain for NY of $24 Billion.  But since I am on the topic of Amazon... What kind of tax reform did we do where the rate for corporations was reduced to 22% or something like that, and Amazon, under both the old syste

Because Science

As a conservatarian (combined libertarian/conservative) I am frequently referred to as a science denier, by people who only think they know what I believe.  Whether it is climate change (where they have to adapt new numbers every year so that their theory works) Or gender, or whatever, I am always considered anti-science (along with deplorable, clinger, homophobic, sexist, racist, zenophobic, transphobic, and on and on.)  Look I am no scientist, (though I am about to graduate with a political SCIENCE degree lol) but some things should seem obvious. Just like the leader of this or that religious group proclaiming the end of the world, it becomes very awkward when the dire predictions are given an expiration date, and nothing happens. Of course, why we don't also compare this to people in regards to science is a good question in and of itself. First, I am referring to Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and her ridiculous Green New Deal.  Scroll to the previous blog for more.  She has said

The Green New Deal, same as the old New Deal?

I will get to the subject in a minute, but wanted to just highlight a subject that is very controversial. Martina Navratilova, famous tennis player and spokesperson for not only feminism, but for the LGBT community as well, spoke out in December on allowing  Trans Women to compete in female sports.  After getting creamed on social media for such a backwards cavewoman opinion, she promised she would do some research to be better informed on this issue.  She did. Her research caused her to conclude that she had underestimated the impact on women sports by allowing men to compete as women.  Men as in the biological sense, most of whom had waited until after puberty to change, or rather to identify as a woman.  Muscle and skeletal structure had been established, and no amount of estrogen or testosterone blockers could erase that.   After decades of being a spokeswoman for the community, she has been thrown out.  How dare she say that a man is a man is a man?  I think the term the Trans

Et tu Brute?

It's not the Ides of March , but one could say it is the Ides of President Trump's first term.  And guess what. You have to think that with Representatives Nadler (D-NY) and Schiff (D-CA) starting to call into question Mueller and his investigation, it is likely that there will not be the big reveal leading to impeachment of the President, Vice President, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, and there won't be a Mueller led lynching.  The Democrats will have to do it on their own, (which being Democrats shouldn't be too hard, lynching always was a favorite of theirs) But, wait, it gets so much better. Andrew McCabe, fired Assistant Director of the FBI has said that yes, indeed, there were numerous discussions on ways to get Trump out of office.   Remember McCabe?  Fired the day before he was eligible to retire?  He was the Andy referred to in the Strzok-Page texts.  Why?  He had a Plan B, which like its  abortifacient namesake, was intended to abort the Trump Presidency.  Who

Remember what they are saying now, as it is what they mean.

Dear Independent, Libertarian, or non-socialist Democrat, You gotta hate what you are looking at in 2020, right?  I mean, for some reason, Trump appears to be the only sane choice, and who wants that?  The vitriol hurled at Howard Schultz for thinking of running as an independent is real, and the thing is, I am not sure it ends with a Trump victory.  Here is what I know happens, and this is why you all should be playing very close attention. If you are new to the Lib, let me take a moment and walk through my progression in 2016. I supported Rand Paul .  If he were to switch parties and run as the LP candidate in 2020, I would be there in a heartbeat.  What a pun actually, an eye doctor running in 2020?  After Paul..  I switched to Senator Cruz .  Senator Cruz is a little "too conservative, not libertarian" for me, but better than Trump, or so I thought.  When it was obvious that Kasich was doing all he could to keep Cruz out (likely thinking there was no way that the

Random thoughts

The State of the Union has come and gone.  I knew that Stacy Abrams, chosen by the DNC to respond, would be entertaining.  I didn't realize it would be that entertaining.  President Trump sounded presidential, she appeared with a group behind her, but as she spoke it seemed that she was outlined like being in front of a green screen, and not the audience.   She sounded shrill, as if the President had also spoken that way. If the House and Senate Democrats weren't suffering from extreme TDS, they would see that the President would be willing to bend over his base on DACA, and as we heard, paid family medical leave, in exchange for a wall, or fence, or barrier.  Trump is still the most apolitical president in a generation.  I guess I should be grateful that they haven't realized it.  The President claimed we aren't and would never be a Socialist nation, and yet he called for new entitlement programs like a Trumpcare health care system, paid medical leave, and price fix

Random meanderings

Well , I guess Governor Northam D-VA is a good Democrat. Spending his younger years in a Klan hood and blackface.  Typical of someone that thinks it is okay to deliver a baby and then determine whether it lives or dies.  By the way, is it just me, or is it horrifying that people are calling for his resignation, not because he advocates murdering children after birth, but for wearing a Klan hood back in the day. Speaking of abortion .  Contrary to popular belief, 90% of late term abortions are elective , meaning not necessary either due to a health crisis to the baby, or a medical emergency of the mother. Want some other statistics?  Sure, Even though blacks only make up 13% of the population , they account for 33% of all abortions .  Hmmm, That sounds interesting, what else? Half of all black pregnancies result in abortion.   HALF, 50%. 75% of all black children that survive the above number are raised in a single parent home. Can you believe the racism in this country?

Gone Galt, sort of.

If you want to know my political thoughts, you are going to have to come to the SnakeRiverLib to find them.  I reached my limit on Facebook.  No more sharing articles that matter, no more pointing out what should be the obvious to people to either ignore, or block.  How long will it last?  I am hopeful that it is permanent.  You can expect to find shorter pieces, or maybe the random takes with a little of each. And what better way to start Black History Month, or as I like to say, "How have the Dems screwed them this time" Month, then a short history. Before the Civil War, the Democrat Party was on full display with a unanimous supreme court ruling, Dred Scott.  That blacks are never, "human" , or if that is too much for you, "free" . Look, I won't apologize for slavery.  It was an unfortunate part of our history and while nothing can repay the lives of slaves that lived and died, were abused, murdered, and sold as cattle.  But as a nation, we
