short takes
I don't know where to turn, calling Rand Paul. I just heard Ted Cruz say we need a strong executive to roll back what has happened in the past several years. No, not a quote. A strong executive, Senator? We are where we are because of a strong executive, not because we don't have one.
Congress has rolled over on its responsibility to legislate laws, leaving it to the Executive Branch to fill in the blanks. What we need is an executive that will not allow that to happen. That will not only veto legislation that delegates authority to unelected bureaucrats, but will dump all the regulations on the Congress to vote on the mountain of regulations that the elected Representatives didn't write. I would write an Executive Order that would cancel those regulations in two years if they aren't voted on. Senator, really? that is an answer that I would expect from Trump or one of the establishment candidates. As I wrote previously, I suspect that a deal with the establishment and Trump is in the works. He loves making deals, as do they.
10% of college graduates think that Judge Judy sits on the US Supreme Court. While I think that would create an interesting dynamic, it is scary that people with degrees think that. Of course I am not surprised, the President was employed as a Constitutional Law professor. No wonder.
Donald Trump is taking heat from some because he played both sides of the street as a businessman. Of course he did. If you are in business, and your business is of sufficient size to be noticed by the political thugs, you have to pay, otherwise you are out of business. I do have issue with his positions on Kelo, the eminent domain case that took an old lady's house, not to use it for an highway, or a school, or other government purpose, but to give it to a corporation on the premise that they would pay higher property taxes.
I don't know how Hillary survives the latest email announcements. I think it would be a set up for Christmas in November if it turns out to be the Bern.
I do think that Senator Paul will outperform expectations in Iowa, and if he does reasonably well, that could propel him in a more libertarian New Hampshire, where right now they are leaning towards Trump. Give them a true limited government choice, and who knows? Outperform does not mean win, by the way.
If I were the President, I would have tried to settle the immigration case now heading to the Supremes. If he loses, it probably will impact not just the case for his illegal action in November 2014, but it could rip apart his Executive Orders/actions from previous years. That would be great!
What happened to the War on Women? I will give this one to Trump. How does the woman who actively worked to discredit any of Bill's accusers stand with women who say that they should be believed?
Back when gas was $4.00 a gallon, the President said that was a sign of a good economy. What does far less than $2.00 a gallon mean? Brazil is collapsing on itself, as is China. Soon the economic boom of fracking will become a bust, and with that the collapse of revenue as thousands are laid off, and tax revenue dries up. I suspect that they are hoping that it doesn't happen for at least a year.
The Iowa Caucus is 12 days away. 6 days after the world becomes scorched. Let me include this link by the Nobel Prize winning climatologist, who was a prophet to the Unabomber, and predictied this scorching. Courtesy of master parody writer/singer Paul Shanklin.
