Let the games begin
We now have nominees.
On the left, we have Hillary Clinton. She is a hard core leftist, but doesn't sell it well. In fact , she is probably one of the worst candidates in recent memory to win the nomination. I mean, compared to Mondale and McGovern, she is a lightweight. When all you campaign on is "Vote for me so that we can have a woman for President" That says way more than the words. Her problem is that the far left hate her, because she epitomizes the true soul of the Democrat party, being the pawns of Wall Street.
On the, well, I guess right, you have Donald Trump. He is not to be underestimated in the campaign. He will always get ratings for whoever has him on, and he doesn't really care whether the coverage is good or bad. He would probably be better at judges than Hillary, as we know whom she would nominate, and the people suggested by Trump would be any conservative's dream. (Though full disclosure, he did suggest his hard left judge sister would make a great justice) Trump's secret weapon, which is not all that secret, is that there is a world wide movement against global minded politicians. I do think that the election is his to lose, and probably win it by a large margin. Trump is no politician, and whether he will be the one to abide by the Constitution is unknown. Certainly the precedent set by the current President makes it easier for someone to rule than to preside.
Jill Stein is truly a wasted vote for the Green Party. Not only will she not be on all ballots, but there is someone that would appeal to those who truly believe in civil rights, Gary Johnson.
Gary Johnson of the Libertarian party, boasts on his siding with Sanders 73% of the time, no doubt to build his cred with those voters who feel they have been disenfranchised by the Democrat party, (the fix was in from the start, and the proof has been confirmed) The difference, of course, is that Gary Johnson doesn't believe in "Free!" He knows that by reducing regulation, and getting the government out of the business of picking winners and losers will not provide "Free!" but will substantially reduce the cost of everything In the last year for which stats are available, the IRS took in about $1,800,000,000,000.00 in individual income tax. It is also estimated that for same year regulation cost the economy the same $1,800,000,000,000.00 That is a lot of money.
Of course the two parties both point out that a vote for Johnson is a vote for the candidate you don't want. People always complain about the two party system, and how wrong it is. They are right. Complaining won't be sufficient. This election is going to be fun.
One note. Venezuela is the perfect example of what a socialist future looks like. Profitable, prosperous, and then Chavez turned it into a hellhole. Nationalizing everything, kicking the owners out. And when the equipment breaks, for some reason the original owners won't invest even more. Now they are forcing government employees into the field to work the land. Starvation, No medications or healthcare, (what happened to healthcare being a right?) Not even any toilet paper. Oh well, A worker's paradise that could be coming soon to a country near you.
Long live the porcupine, Don't tread on anyone!
