The Lull before the storm, and the storms in it.
The GOP starts their convention next week. No doubt there will be protests, probably from the BLM group, ( a DNC funded group, FYI)
I have been really trying to think of something to write. I am really down on the election. One thing about supporting the Libertarian, is that you don't get your hopes up.
A BLM protest converting into an active shooter scenario, with 5 police officers dead, and 7 wounded. For the most part, police do not go hunting down black men to slay them. This is just ridiculous, and a race war is brewing.
The President, while making noise mourning the police, took the opportunity to blame guns for the violence. He also implied guilt on the part of the police. At a policeman's funeral. He has done a lot of damage during his two terms to separate the races, and to breed hatred. He has also worked very hard to tear down the credibility of law enforcement, trying very hard to pit the people against the police. Odd considering that as President, he is the ultimate authority when it comes to the law. He has tolerated continual law breaking at every level, and has done more to destroy the rule of law than anyone else.
Justice Ginsberg really crossed the line, proving that she is fully political when it comes to her decisions, and she is not to be trusted when it comes to ruling on the law equitably. This is proof that the founders were correct when they felt that the court was the least of the three branches of government. The opinions of the court were never intended to be the final word on a law. Some presidents understood that, and the court responded. All it would take is for a President or Congress to ignore the rulings, and the world would be set right.
Personally, if I were President, I would allow the numbers of the court to dwindle, either to a 7 member court, or a 5 member court. 9 isn't in the constitution.
The numbers, I think are there for a very interesting election. There is a large amount of disgust for both the Dem and Rep nominees. A very narrowly targeted Libertarian campaign could potentially deny an electoral majority for either party, throwing the election to the House. Yes, I think it really could happen.
There is still a cone of silence over Twin Falls regarding an assault last month. It involved a 5 year old victim, and three juvenile refugees. 14, 11, and 7. The police are silent, the media has clamped down on coverage, and the victim and her family are hurting, while the accused continue to live within the apartment complex. The refugees are Iraqi and Somali. While I definitely feel that all refugees should not be painted with this brush, the bottom line is that by squashing the story, and denying justice to the victim, it causes every refugee to be painted with the same brush. Put it in the open, let the chips fall where they may, and the more transparency the better. This is the problem with Muslim terrorists. By refusing to acknowledge their religion in spite of the evidence, it perpetuates the idea that all Muslims are terrorists. Not a good thing.
Fun times for the parties coming up. Pray for peace, pray for an absence of violence. I fear that the storm clouds of 1968 are brewing, and NOTHING good can come from that. Pray that no one gets hurt. I will.
