Fourth quarter, and the clock is running.
Hillary is past her "Weekend at Bernie's" event. She has referred to a significant number of the American Public as "deplorable". Throwing the race card so early is a clear sign of panic. 1,700 emails are poised to be released by Wikileaks. They know what is there, and they have said it is very bad for her. Right now she is running the prevent defense, trying to make it to election day with a lead. Problem with that? It may already be too late.
I have not embraced Trump, and still take my libertarian stand seriously, but I wanted to write a moment to clarify that I understand why people would support Trump. It makes sense to me. Supreme Court justices, Obamacare. Iran Treaty, trade policy, and on and on. He is infinitely better than Hillary, make no mistake. If he doesn't have any gaffes between now and the election, I suspect he cruises to victory.
I have written on the problems that someone with a purely constitutional view would have. Even a Gary Johnson presidency would be mired in a bureaucratic swamp. By definition, a Libertarian President would not act on his own, but would need congress to do its job. A few things that he COULD do.
By Executive Order, he could eliminate all Executive Orders.
He could threaten to enforce laws of broken systems, such as immigration, drug enforcement, gun laws, if Congress does not fix them.
By Executive Order, he could force the Congress to vote on regulations that were created by the Executive Branch, or get rid of them.
That is about it.
And now the Bull in the China Shop. Trump could go in, and use the powers that have been accumulated by past Presidents, including the current officeholder, to fix many of the problems in government. Do I support that? No. I do not, but it may be the only way to get stuff moving. There are too many special interests with too much power to get Congress to reduce government. But Trump could with the stroke of a pen. He needs to continue to go to big Democrat run cities, and point out that the failed schools, the lack of employment, the broken families all can be tied to the Democrat machine.
The Washington Post wrote recently about how the Democrats are struggling to get the latino community to gel like blacks. Remember, that leftists do not see individuals, they only see voting blocks. They could care less about a black male with a gun shot by a black police officer. In a police department heading by a black chief. In a city with a sizable black population. All they care about is using the death to further divide the country. The Democrats' calculus has a problem. Trump is pulling anywhere from 10 to 20% of the black vote.
The Bull in the China Shop. An interesting concept.
