The Promised Land

Who are the refugees in Israel?  Well before the end of WWI, Jews had been buying land in the former Ottoman Empire.  They had been buying land to create a homeland for Jews.  At the end of WWI, the Ottoman Empire was divided and the protectorate was established, designating an official homeland for the Jews.  Their ANCESTRAL homeland, to clarify.  The UN recognized Israel in 1948, and it was immediately attacked by the surrounding arab nations.  The attack was repulsed, and the war to maintain their freedom had begun.  In 1967 and 1973 additional wars happened.  Same results, except that Israel took land necessary to defend itself.  It traded away the Sinai peninsula to Egypt in exchange for peace.  Look what that got them in the UN.  Egypt voted yes.

So, here we are.  Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, the only one that grants citizenship to believers of a different sort (ask christians or jews about their full citizenship privileges in Iran or Saudi Arabia.)  The US, as it seems, not only abstained on the vote, but helped craft the resolution, and encouraged allies to support it.  I guess the idea was that Israel is no longer supporting the two state solution.

Why don't we ask the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, or Hamas in Gaza why they don't support the two state solution?  Because THEY DON'T!  They support the elimination of Israel, they support the genocide of the Jews.  They teach it in their homes, they teach it in the schools, it is part of their faith.

The result is that now Israel stands condemned before the very body that did nothing to protect it after recognizing it as a sovereign state.  Israel has done everything possible to allow for a peaceful coexistence.  They forced Jews out of Gaza, and allowed Hamas to turn it into the hellhole it has become, using humanitarian aid not to support its people, but to buy arms, and dig tunnels into Israel to smuggle arms into Israel.  The Palestinian Authority pays children's families for their suicide bomb efforts.  How is that for a two state solution Secretary Kerry?

It wasn't always this way.  Up to 1993, there were no fences, or walls.  Gaza was a thriving port.  Palestinians in the West Bank worked in Israel, and vice versa.  Yes there were issues.  Random bombings.  Etc.  Was it great and utopian?  No.  But then the US came in and brought back the exiled terrorist Arafat, to have a figure head to deal with.  Much progress was made, on the surface.  Israel granted limited autonomy, and was poised to give land for peace. In 2000, Israel offered Arafat what he said he wanted, an independent state.  He said no, and went back and ramped up the bombings.  In spite of that, Israel has bent over backwards to live up to their side of the deal.  It isn't Israel that is the problem, it is the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, AND the President of the United States that is the cause.

In our name you did this, Mr. President.  Shame on you.  Are you trying to make Mr. Trump even more appealing to the masses?  Because it is working.
