Citizenship of the United States.
This one will be short, or that is my intent.
Right now, having heard oral arguments for the case regarding the Citizenship question on the 2020 US Census. If this case is anything other than 9-0, the House and Senate should start impeachment hearings on those Justices that voted against a question on Citizenship. It very likely won't be, unfortunately. What is all the commotion?
In briefs before the Supremes, the arguments being made are laughable, and make a mockery of our judicial process. They argue:
That illegals (their argument was undocumented but they are here illegally) won't fill out the Census because they will be hunted down and deported. This argument was made by the California AG, as well as some county in Texas, whose population of illegals merits a Congressional seat on its own (they actually argued that)
The House's brief, filed by the Speaker's office actually insinuated that illegals will be breaking the law by not filling out the Census, for the reason stated above. I wonder if she sees the irony of thinking that people who broke the law getting here will worry about breaking the law by not filling out the Census.
There is only one problem with the whiners listed above.
The question isn't whether you are an illegal immigrant or not, it is whether or not you are a citizen of the United States. That is it. You see, to the left, they don't understand that their are legal immigrants in this country. As to whether or not it is Constitutional, well, it was on the Census until 1950.
The politicians pretend to care about the illegals, and truthfully since they have the black vote locked up, they couldn't care less about the impact on them. But they don't. It is about power.
It is about money. It is about Congressional districts. And all because of a question, all could come crashing down. Is that question "Please check if you are an undocumented immigrant?" No, it would be "Are you a United States Citizen?" Again, fear mongering by the left. No follow up further defining question about immigration status.
Again, it should be a 9-0 decision supporting the question on the Census. I suspect it will be a 5-4 decision and the question will be there. Rumor is that Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg will be leaving in January, hoping that a GOP Senate will hold back on a replacement like they did for Garland in 2016. (forgetting that it was GOP majority in the Senate and a Dim in the White House, a slightly different scenario)
