Mr. President, America will never be socialist?

I would be remiss without calling this one out. The bull in the china shop has done much to curtail regulations.  No one can question that.  Considering that he has to fight not only an entrenched bureaucracy, but also a Congress that never met a regulation it didn't like, he has done remarkably well.  This one is bipartisan.  And it has to stop.  Congress passes "frameworks", themselves hundreds or thousands of pages, and hands them off to the Deep State, or Swamp, where it takes those hundreds or thousands of pages and turns them into thousands or tens of thousands of pages. There is no accountability in the Deep State, they are permanent civil service, impervious to politics, or even job performance for that matter.  Guess where else there is no accountability?  Congress.  That is right, Congress can point their fingers at the Deep State and be aghast at what was spawned. In other words, there is no accountability, except at the Oval offic...

The 2020 DNC Primary is on!

First, a word. I would not attack members of Congress, or any politician because of religion, race, or other individual personal characteristic, for two reasons.  One, I couldn't care less what their status is, so long as they understand they swore an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.  Second, people whose argument is so weak they have to hide behind their victimhood and imagined attacks on it, have no business in Congress.  But, as others throw the race, gender, or other card, I guess that is to be expected.  When the Democrats can't pass a resolution condemning Rep. Omar (D-MN) for her slurs of Israel, which is how it began, by the time it was modified, Rep. Omar (the person that was to be admonished with this resolution) ended up voting for some watered down version condemning hate, or something. But.  When one previously worked for Hamas, like Omar, (their US PR firm, CAIR and is still raising money for them), we need to be very careful about their m...

Socialism, the devil is in the details, literally.

What is wrong with the producers owning the means of production?  What is wrong with providing a generous safety net for those "unwilling to work" as Occasional Cortex said?  What is wrong with any of this? So, we can have a debate about the welfare state, or social safety net or whatever you want to call it.  Countries that are falsely accused of being socialist, such as the Scandinavian nations, are not really socialist at all.  In fact, those nations frequently score higher on the Freedom Index than the US.  But aren't they socialist?  No.  They do have a very generous welfare state, which is being threatened by refugees that are partaking but not contributing.  But what are the differences?  What do those nations have that the US doesn't?  They have universal health care They have generous housing benefits They have free tuition at state universities.  Is there anything that they don't have that the US does? You betcha. ...

#OccasionalCortex and other fun stuff.

Just as a reminder on considering higher education, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Green New Dealer, (#OccasionalCortex) and general purveyor of unicorns has an economics degree.  She should sue to get her money back. She has managed to do something no one thought possible, to get the wacko socialist Bill deBlasio, Mayor of NY, to cry out for capitalism, (though it is the typical progressive crony capitalism)  Why? Because College Grad #AOC thought that the $3 Billion NYC was going to give Amazon could be better spent elsewhere, not understanding that that $3 Billion were tax credits for the estimated $27 Billion in Tax Revenue for NYC and New York State, along with the salaries of 25,000 people, and their contributions to the tax coffers.  I guess that would be a net gain for NY of $24 Billion.  But since I am on the topic of Amazon... What kind of tax reform did we do where the rate for corporations was reduced to 22% or something like that, and Amazon, under...

Because Science

As a conservatarian (combined libertarian/conservative) I am frequently referred to as a science denier, by people who only think they know what I believe.  Whether it is climate change (where they have to adapt new numbers every year so that their theory works) Or gender, or whatever, I am always considered anti-science (along with deplorable, clinger, homophobic, sexist, racist, zenophobic, transphobic, and on and on.)  Look I am no scientist, (though I am about to graduate with a political SCIENCE degree lol) but some things should seem obvious. Just like the leader of this or that religious group proclaiming the end of the world, it becomes very awkward when the dire predictions are given an expiration date, and nothing happens. Of course, why we don't also compare this to people in regards to science is a good question in and of itself. First, I am referring to Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and her ridiculous Green New Deal.  Scroll to the previous blog for more....

The Green New Deal, same as the old New Deal?

I will get to the subject in a minute, but wanted to just highlight a subject that is very controversial. Martina Navratilova, famous tennis player and spokesperson for not only feminism, but for the LGBT community as well, spoke out in December on allowing  Trans Women to compete in female sports.  After getting creamed on social media for such a backwards cavewoman opinion, she promised she would do some research to be better informed on this issue.  She did. Her research caused her to conclude that she had underestimated the impact on women sports by allowing men to compete as women.  Men as in the biological sense, most of whom had waited until after puberty to change, or rather to identify as a woman.  Muscle and skeletal structure had been established, and no amount of estrogen or testosterone blockers could erase that.   After decades of being a spokeswoman for the community, she has been thrown out.  How dare she say that a man is a ma...

Et tu Brute?

It's not the Ides of March , but one could say it is the Ides of President Trump's first term.  And guess what. You have to think that with Representatives Nadler (D-NY) and Schiff (D-CA) starting to call into question Mueller and his investigation, it is likely that there will not be the big reveal leading to impeachment of the President, Vice President, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, and there won't be a Mueller led lynching.  The Democrats will have to do it on their own, (which being Democrats shouldn't be too hard, lynching always was a favorite of theirs) But, wait, it gets so much better. Andrew McCabe, fired Assistant Director of the FBI has said that yes, indeed, there were numerous discussions on ways to get Trump out of office.   Remember McCabe?  Fired the day before he was eligible to retire?  He was the Andy referred to in the Strzok-Page texts.  Why?  He had a Plan B, which like its  abortifacient namesake, was intended to abort...
