They kind of did pay for you, so....
This one is not easy for me to write, but I think that it is important.
Before I begin,
I see no outreach by the Trump people to conservatives. I strongly suspect that it will not happen. He seems to think that he is conservative, and so if one doesn't support him, then that one is the problem. Of course, it would be hard for outreach to be meaningful, anyway, as he turns on a dime when it comes to policy.
So, it would be next to impossible for Mr. Trump, to convince me to vote FOR him. And I know that many voters feel the same way. It is no surprise that many of the candidates are now warming to him, maybe sucking up for a VP or cabinet post, I don't know. What really shocked me was Paul Ryan (R-WI). He is the highest ranking elected Republican official. Speaker of the House. And, in my opinion, he has NO business airing a lack of endorsement for the GOP nominee. I get that Mr. Trump has upset a lot of people. His non stop barrage against Senator Cruz was unbelievable, and probably caused irreparable damage. But, he is the presumptive nominee, and as much as I hate it, elected Republicans have to get behind him.
The GOP supported those candidates, provided infrastructure, a spot on the ballot, and, once elected, theoretically, we shall see, insulation against a party sponsored primary challenge. That is not lightweight support. Even those candidates that beat out the establishment candidate of choice received that support. So, I don't understand Rep. Ryan's position. If you have a beef, keep it private. You are a Republican, you were even a VP nominee, for a candidate that many in the grassroots were holding their noses and voting for, or not voting period.
Frankly, Rep. Ryan, and you, Senator Graham, (R-SC) have an obligation to either support the nominee, or renounce your party affiliation, and either go Independent, or perhaps (not Graham) Libertarian? Staying on as Speaker while airing your laundry against the GOP nominee is not cool. I mean come on, even squishes like Chaffee and Jeffords jumped ship when they couldn't square their views.
So, all eyes on Cruz. I don't see him endorsing. Will he jump party? If he doesn't endorse, he should, for me to be consistent, I would not hold him less accountable than other GOP members. What does he do? He has a reelection campaign coming up in 2018, so that will be a factor, but if he doesn't jump, he will really have to explain that one, for this supporter to feel anything other than he was a fraud. Of course, a nomination to the Supreme Court might do it for me.
And me? Just registered today with the Libertarian Party. If I can, I might even go to the state convention here in Idaho.
Why should I vote FOR Mr. Trump? So far, no answers.
So, just as a reminder for you "do you want Hillary" people. That isn't voting FOR Trump, that is voting against Hillary, which I plan on doing. No, not for the lessor of two evils, (still evil), but for the best candidate, the one who will stand for our liberty.
