you can only count on you for protection
I would think that the fact that those sworn to protect us were waiting behind police cars while kids inside the school died, would be getting more coverage than it is. Not just the SRO who listened from the outside as kids died and more shots were fired, but the lies of the now infamous Sheriff Israel of the Broward County Sheriff's office.
Starting with the attempted gang rape of Senator Marco Rubio (RINO-FL) and Dana Loesch (NRA Rockstar) by CNN on their so called town hall. It is very likely that the Sheriff knew that the SRO was on site and did nothing, and may have known that 3 other officers were in defensive positions outside, while killing was going on inside.
How did the NRA get dragged into this? Here is a question: All Democrats lie and say that they respect the 2nd Amendment, but... The lie was put out there fair and square when Senator Rubio put out the idea of banning all semi-auto rifles, and the crowd nearly went into a standing O. They have preached against the NRA, they hate the members of the NRA, and those gun owners who don't join, but do like having their guns.
But now, CNN, and the media have shot themselves in the foot. It was a great narrative for them. White kid, no trouble with the law, LEGALLY buys an AR-15, and goes into a school and starts to shoot. It WAS a great narrative. If the truth is not let out, fully, it may still be a great narrative. But.
During the "discussion", Dana Loesch is chastised by phony law man Steve Israel for using a fake statistic of "law enforcement had responded to the house of the killer some 39 times." Had there been an unbiased moderator, he would have interrupted and said that the statistic she used was a result of CNN's research! He didn't. Even so, Dana more than held her own. So here is the narrative that progressives don't want people to put together.
The killer was troubled.
He had been seen and interviewed by the police and Florida's child services numerous times, for mental health issues, as well as the strong possibility of him hurting himself or others.
The same reoccurring theme of "he is talking about shooting up the school and killing himself".
What did they do? Nothing. Family asked, begged the police to take the guns. never mind.
People saw something.. They said something. What did government do? Nothing.
The FBI was given tips. They didn't pass them on.
School Resource Officer of the year in 2014, Deputy Scott Peterson was assigned to investigate on one of these occasions. Result? Internal Affairs is reviewing.
Bottom line? What should be asked of every person wanting to limit your ability to protect yourself. Who will do it? Government can't be held liable, and have proven in some circumstances to not be able to do so. So if government can't, or won't, who will? Especially after they have disarmed the law abiding citizenry of this nation? To paraphrase Smokey Bear
"Only you"
