Kaepernick is right? And immigration
Two things tonight.
1. Of course, the DREAMERS know that they aren't being deported, though some undoubtedly should be. That isn't what they are wanting. That isn't what the Democrats want. They want the DREAMERS AND their parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, friend of their nieces, etc, allowed in, legalized, and put on the path to citizenship.
President Obama said, when he unconstitutionally acted, (his own words, at least 22 times) that since Congress refused to act, he would. Thing is, Congress didn't refuse to act. They chose NOT to pass any kind of amnesty. They cried about the broken immigration system, and that SOMEBODY should do SOMETHING about it. Not them of course, they recognized that those that could LEGALLY VOTE, didn't want it, even when they had a filibuster proof majority in the US Senate. Let me say that again. President Obama did NOT push for, Rep Pelosi D-CA did NOT seek any kind of amnesty legislation when they had complete control of the government.
This is different, by the way, from today when the Establishment controls the House and Senate, and Trump is in the White House. No rubber stamp there. In fact, Senator McCain R-AZ is intentionally breaking his campaign promise (without which, he would have lost) to spite the President. DC hates President Trump. That is probably why most Americans support the president.
Now for some controversy.
2. We have been told that those house slaves, and slaves chosen as overseers were Uncle Toms. These were slaves that had been taught and trained to serve the master without whips. They did so willingly. So, believe it or not, I think that old Colin K did the right thing.
I was thinking about going to see the Chiefs next week on Monday night. The fact that what is probably one of the best teams in the league, a team that has sold out games forever and a day, has tickets available for a prime time game on their web page, should speak volumes about where the people stand on all of this BS. As for me. Won't go. Won't watch on the ESPN.
I do not support President Trump telling a private business what they should do to their employees. Very inappropriate. I do suspect, however, that this does hurt the NFL. If President Trump has demonstrated anything, it is that he knows how to move his base. With all the owners caught in the vice of not upsetting their customers and keeping their players happy, they mostly have issued wishy washy statements about uniting the country, and stuff. Some, though, have been very firm on the situation.
So, right now, to assume that the players are being honest when they whine about oppression, (they aren't) What are they doing about it? Are they refusing to play, and trying to "escape" their contracts like old Kaepernick did? Or, are they like the Uncle Toms? Not needing whips to keep them in line. Satisfied with what their masters give them.
People that earn multiple millions of dollars don't have the sympathies of those who spend hard earned money to watch them play. And it is how the watchers react that determine the outcome.
