Praying for Paris, and US
I have been throwing this one around all day, but some clarifying happened when what will no doubt be proved to be Muslim Terrorists decided to blow stuff up, including themselves. This could happen here as well make no mistake.
France and most other nations in Europe have large, non-assimilated populations of Muslims. They live in close knit communities, have their own laws, and there are rumors that some of these areas are called No-Go zones by the natives. They are impoverished, and so turn inward, and become breeding grounds for hate. And when I say breeding grounds, I literally mean that. (native European reproductive rate 1.4 or so per couple, Muslims in Europe reproductive rate 8 per couple). I would suspect that most of this population did not come to Europe to take over, but rather to live. With a new wave of immigrants from the Middle East, (many of whom may be ISIS terrorists, or at least sympathizers) things have reached a boiling over point, and now we see the result.
If President Obama is serious about handling this, the first thing he should do is send the regular army in the US to the borders, to seal them off. (he won't), and then have the State Department pull their VISA records for people entering that haven't left, and track them down. (won't either). Of course we are not at war with Mexico, or Canada, but we also know that Mexico in particular is not fully in control of the northern provinces, and chaos reigns.
When laws are not enforced, whatever those laws are, and rights are not protected, you have anarchy, plain and simple. Anarchy, by the way precedes totalitarian governments. And what have we just spent the last year doing? Completely discrediting the law enforcement in this country. The seeds have been sown. Those who are in power will not give it up easily, and by that, I don't necessarily mean President Obama, I am talking more about those that write the regulations, those that have the ears of congress, and the president. No matter who is President, it will be hard, especially in times of chaos in the world, to change course, to shake off the shackles of bureaucracy, and the politics of pull. There are few that would even try.
For my homework for what will be written next time, (unless something else blows up) the Bill of Rights.
