Safety net, or a net to catch someone?
I really hate to follow up what I thought was a pretty decent post, but when something comes to me, I just got to put it down in Cyber ink, otherwise it is lost.
I have written about the Welfare state, and what it has done to the lower and underclass. I actually will include the middle class in the welfare state, thanks to the subsidies of Ocare. The tax credits, or whatever they are have cemented many into the same plantation that Democrats put the poor in decades ago.
No, Using the term "plantation" and all that it implies is not hyperbole. It is every bit true, and accurate. Those who are now multi-generational welfare recipients are attached to the Democrat plantation every bit as much as slaves were pre-Civil War. Instead of manual labor, they are required to go to the polls and vote the "D".
So, most people feel that there should be a social safety net. To provide for those that CAN'T provide for themselves. Whether it is healthcare, food, or shelter. We even extend that net to those that have something happen that leaves them in the position of not having a home, or food. Can we agree to this? Just like trapeze artists working with that net under them. It is there for protection. Unfortunately, that is not the only use for nets.
Nets are also used to snare, or trap someone, or something. Our safety net has become a snare, luring people in with the promise of an existence. But nothing more than an existence. There are no doubt thousands, if not millions, that are trapped in this net. They are prey to the victim hustlers, who tell them that the other party threatens what has become their livelihood; or bad schools that keep the children from learning that they can actually escape the net. And of course, all the while, blaming someone other than the responsible parties for their existence.
Then candidate Trump, hinted at how to cut this net, and I think that as President could really make a dent into the urban vote, regardless of race. He said it best, pointing out that these urban centers around the country, with high unemployment, failing schools, overwhelming numbers of single parent households, and poverty rates off the chart, all have one thing in common.
THEY ARE RUN BY DEMOCRATS!
One could easily draw the conclusion that these "safety nets" are really snares to trap people. So what did Candidate Trump say to these people? He asked for their vote and said:
"What do you have to lose?"
That should have given a hint to the Democrats leading up to the election. It doesn't take much to tip an election. Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, all tipped to Trump.
Candidate Trump offered a way out of the net. It is up to President Trump to deliver. And Democrats should beware if he can start to cut that net away.
