spy vs spy

If you read Mad magazine, then the title is familiar.  I wasn't going to write about this subject, but there are some red flags that really should be disseminated.

We are familiar with the investigations going on.  A Special Counsel has been appointed by the DOJ to investigate a crime that as yet there is no evidence that it happened.  Let me say that again.  As of today, there is NO EVIDENCE that the Trump campaign colluded with the Ruskies.  Waters has admitted it, Feinstein has admitted it.  The Dems have hung themselves out on a huge limb.

If the Special Counsel says nothing happened, that will not satisfy the other side, by the way.

So, Trump advisers had spoken with the Russians.  It may have been that the Russians were trying to sway the election, though if so, I would have thought they would have been going in with Hillary.  After all, she approved a sale of 20% of US uranium production to a Canadian company owned by.... The Russians.   What did she get?  Oh, a speech for Bill, and a half million dollars into her slush fund, er, the Clinton Foundation.

Of course they tried to influence the election.  The appearance of influence alone has hamstrung to a certain extent the agenda of the President.  I might point out who is pointing the fingers, because they would know all about it.  The Organizing for America campaign (political outreach operated from the White House) hired consultants to go to Israel to try to beat Netanyahu in the last election. (result?  Not only did Bibi win, but he didn't even need to make a coalition to govern.)

This has been in the news constantly.   Every day something new comes out.  So much pressure, because the President fired a universally hated FBI director.  He talked to the Director about ending the investigation of Flynn, or so we are told.  Did he try to coerce him, or did he say something like "Hey, I fired Flynn, does there still need to be an investigation?"  Maybe not, But what evidence is there?  I personally like the fact that our President is still learning to navigate the swamp of DC, and not familiar with the "established protocols".   Hopefully he never will learn them.

Well, yesterday, something new did come out.  But you didn't hear it on the news.  Except maybe some conservative sites.  I wonder why...

So it turns out that the Obama Administration's spying on everyday Americans was happening a little more frequently than we were led to believe. Two weeks before the election, the Administration went to the FISA Court and confessed to some serious abuses of the 4th Amendment.(Darn Constitution.  Getting in the way of Neocons and Democrats alike)   One in twenty Americans were unmasked, and tracked. You say, "that is just 5%".  So, that "just 5%" is 16,500,000.   As in millions.  Maybe you have heard that one could get an indictment of a ham sandwich from a grand jury.  Well, getting a FISA warrant is much easier, and the ruling hammering the Obama Administration should scare everyone.  Even the ACLU is up in arms.  The link above includes a link to download the FISA court report.  It is only 99 pages.

Did the Russians want to influence the election?  Of course they did.  Did they have contact with the Trump campaign/transition team?  The answer is yes.  So, as a follow up, Were they successful?  I would say with President Trump being so adversarial towards Russia, I would say if so, they are not getting a good return.  If President Trump is able to unite the Middle East, leaving Iran to the Russians, then even more so.  Of course, investigating Russia could turn up some uncomfortable facts about a certain Democrat.  She shredded hers, but do they still have theirs?  Hmmm  that would make things interesting.

Of course eliminating the apparatus that spies on its masters is paramount.  There are very few, if any in Congress advocating this.  (at least one.  the rock star from KY)
